Health Education and PE Curriculum
The Teens Exercise curriculum is a successful evaluated nutrition and physical activity program based on our 5 lifestyles for good health. Our program was piloted in Health Education and PE classrooms in Dekalb County Schools.
You can present the curriculum in many ways:
- Use our CD in your health education or PE class
- Purchase CDs for your computer center, students can work independently or
as a class to learn how to be active and make healthy food choices.
- Purchase a CD for each student to use in the classroom as an independent study program or extra credit.
- Students log on to an interactive CD, complete assignments, journalize their experience and share activities with their families. Students receive academic credit by performing weekly assignments over a six week period. Work is kept in a notebook, checked periodically by the teacher and turned in at the end of six weeks.
An independent study student responded,
"I think this program has changed my life dramaticly, physically and emotionally."
The Teens Exercise Independent Study program removes barriers and provides support by linking teachers with parents so students can put healthy lifestyles into practice.
