Atlanta Teens  3 MARTA Routes to Fun!

Glen Emerald Park:
1479 Bouldercrest Rd.
Atlanta, GA 30316
Near: East Atlanta Village
Marta Route: From 5-Point Station, take Marta East to King Memorial. Take bus #32 (Bouldercrest), get off at the park stop. Need transfer or Marta Card to ride bus and return
Attractions: Lake, nature trail, 2 basketball courts, 2 tennis courts, multi-use field, 2 playgrounds, picnic areas and nature trails

Lake Claire Park:
Lakeshore Dr.
Atlanta 30307
Hours: 6am – 11pm
Near: Lakeshore Drive, McLendon Ave. and Almeta Ave.
Marta Route: From 5-Point Station, take Marta North to North Ave. or take Marta East to Avondale. Come out to the corner of Ponce De Leon & Lakeshore, walk down Lakeshore 2-3 blocks to the park. If you take the North Station option you will need a transfer or Marta Card to return
Attractions: Multi-purpose sports field, playground, 2 tennis courts, picnic area and paved paths

William T. Knight Park “Knight Park”:
Howell Station Neighborhood
Atlanta, GA 30318
Near: Church St., Rice St., Niles Ave. and Carr St.
Marta Route: From 5-Points Station, take Marta East to either Bankhead or Ashby stop. Take the #52 to the corner of Marietta & Ridge, walk down Ridge 1 block to Church St., the park will be right there. You can also take the #14 bus from Bankhead to Ridge & Marietta and walk down Ridge 1 block to Church St. to the park. You will need a transfer or Marta Card to ride the bus and to return.
Attractions: Green space, playground and tennis court


FOLLOW THESE SAFETY  RULES
1. Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
2. Walk confidently.
3. Look people in the eye as you pass them. This lets others know that you are aware of their presence.
4. Wear shoes and clothing that allow freedom of movement.
5. Don’t wear headphones while exercising. Being able to hear your surroundings will allow you to notice someone you don’t see.
6. Lock your vehicle. Don’t leave valuables such as purses/wallets/cell phones inside.
7. Carry a cell phone or enough change for a phone call in case of emergency.
8. If approached by a stranger don’t allow yourself to be distracted. Reply from a distance and keep responses to questions brief and businesslike.
9. In case of trouble yell “fire” to attract attention.
